Navarre Basque schools strengthen cooperation and festival planning

Basque language schools (ikastolak) in Navarre are strengthening their cooperation to promote language rights and normalization. The San Fermin Ikastola from Zizur Txiki and the Erentzun Ikastola from Viana have announced a partnership to create a unified space for families and students committed to the Basque language.

This collaboration coincides with the Nafarroa Oinez festival. Lizarra Ikastola has been named the new holder of the Nafarroa Oinez 2027 relay, marking the second time the institution will organize the major festival. The handover ceremony took place in Zizur Nagusia, where representatives from various Basque schools gathered to pass the symbolic relay.
