Nawaf Salam visits southern Lebanon to inspect army operations

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam conducted an official visit to the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon to inspect the operations of the Lebanese Army’s South Litani Sector. Accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council, Major General Mohammad al-Mustafa, Salam visited the Bnoua Barakat barracks.

During his visit, Salam was received by Defense Minister Michel Mansour, Chief of Staff Major General Hassan Odeh, and the commander of the South Litani Sector, Brigadier General Nicola Tabet. Salam emphasized that the military presence in the south is not merely a tactical deployment but a vital manifestation of state presence, asserting that every position held by the army helps the state reclaim its sovereignty, authority, and prestige.

The Prime Minister expressed his commitment to supporting the military by mobilizing Arab and international support to modernize equipment and improve the living conditions of soldiers. He stressed the importance of the army as a unifying institution and called for the state to regain full constitutional control over decisions regarding war and peace, ensuring security and stability for Lebanese citizens.
