The 16th edition of the NaxosLegge Festival of narratives, reading, and books has concluded. Directed by Fulvia Toscano, this year’s theme was ‘Mythos: The Challenge of Mythical Thought,’ featuring events across Giardini Naxos, Taormina, and Catania.
The festival integrated literature, theater, poetry, art, history, and religion. Key highlights included the Franz Riccobono Culture Promoters Award, a theatrical performance by Alessio Boni, and discussions on Don Quixote involving Giuseppe Conte. Other notable events included the Italy-Greece Intersections Award presented to Fabrizio Sinisi and the ‘L’Ombra di Dioniso’ 2026 International Theater Award, which was awarded to Mimmo Borrelli at the University of Messina.
The program also featured the Women’s Knowledge Award, involving representatives from various religious traditions, and recognized the Casa delle Donne di Ragusa on its tenth anniversary. Looking ahead, the festival has already announced its 2027 theme: ‘A egregie cose’.
