NaxosLegge Festival returns for 16th edition with Mythos theme

The 16th edition of the NaxosLegge Festival, directed by Fulvia Toscano, is scheduled to take place from September 10 to 18. This year’s theme is ‘Mythos. La sfida del pensiero mitico,’ exploring ancient myths and their contemporary interpretations through literature, poetry, art, theater, and cinema.

The event will begin on September 10 with a preview featuring Italian Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli, who will present his book, ‘Venne la Magna Madre.’ The program includes a presentation by Giuseppe Conte on September 11 at the Naxos Archaeological Park Museum, followed by a discussion on the relationship between myth, politics, and poetry.

The festival will also host the NaxosLegge 2026 awards for cultural promoters. Among the recipients is the Romanian Ambassador, Gabriela Dancau, in recognition of the Italy-Romania cultural year. Other scheduled performances include a theatrical event by Alessio Boni and a tribute to Franco Battiato in Catania.
