Nayyi Navelli outperforms Prahaar at the Indian box office

The Indian film industry is seeing a box office competition between Yami Gautam Dhar’s fantasy entertainer ‘Nayyi Navelli’ and Rajkummar Rao’s courtroom drama ‘Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam’.

‘Nayyi Navelli’ has demonstrated steady performance, earning a worldwide gross of approximately ₹19.3 crore within its first four days. The film, which features elements of folklore and comedy, has maintained a strong hold on audiences during the festive Dussehra period.

In contrast, ‘Prahaar’ has faced a more difficult opening. The biographical drama, which chronicles the professional journey of Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks trial, has reported a net collection of roughly ₹11.15 crore. While the film has been noted for its emotional impact—including a special screening for the Jalgaon Bar Association—it has struggled to outperform ‘Nayyi Navelli’ at the domestic box office.
