Turkish municipalities launch summer sports and education programs for youth

Municipalities across Turkey opened a series of summer programmes aimed at children and teenagers. In Tarsus, the Gelecek Sports Club inaugurated summer courses and honoured athletes who earned national and international medals. Nazilli municipality began registrations for a summer football school for children aged 8‑13, while Kayseri’s KAYMEK programme started a multi‑disciplinary summer school offering academic and sport activities such as English, computer training and swimming.

Aydın Büyükşehir Belediyesi reported strong demand for its summer swimming courses, which combine swimming lessons with physical and social development. In Ağrı, the AGAH Sports Schools project will convert school yards and halls into modern sports centres, providing facilities for basketball, volleyball, gymnastics and other disciplines. Kayseri Talas Belediyespor opened its own summer sports schools, emphasising football development and talent scouting. Battalgazi municipality organised a wide‑range summer calendar, including a football school, evening concerts, art courses and free LGS counselling.

These initiatives collectively aim to keep children active, develop skills and promote healthy lifestyles during the vacation period.
