NBA 2K27 features gameplay improvements and ProPLAY technology

NBA 2K27, developed by Visual Concepts, has been released with several gameplay improvements and new features. The title utilizes ProPLAY technology to integrate over 7,000 animations from real NBA footage, aiming to provide more realistic player movements and personalities.

Key gameplay updates include a revamped defensive system that rewards positioning, improved physical contact, and updated mechanics for shot defense, collisions, and cutoffs. The game also introduces new layup variations, additional dribbling options, and a modified Takeover system.

While the gameplay mechanics show progress, the MyCAREER mode continues to face criticism regarding its progression structure. The new story, titled ‘Fire and Concrete’, follows a player's journey from high school through the G League to the NBA, though some players find the experience relies heavily on repetitive grinding or microtransactions.
