NBA broadcasting in Portugal to expand to Disney Plus

Starting with the 2026/27 season, NBA broadcasts in Portugal will expand to include Disney Plus. A reported 10-year agreement between ESPN and Disney Plus will bring NBA content to the streaming platform through the 2035/36 season.

The coverage provided by Disney Plus will include selected regular-season games, Playoff games, Conference Finals, and the NBA Finals. Additional events such as the NBA Draft, the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, and select NBA Summer League games are also expected to be available. Disney stated that production and coverage will be handled by ESPN, featuring English-language commentary and specialized analysis.

While Disney Plus will offer up to 24 playoff games, including all NBA Finals games, it is currently unclear if Amazon Prime Video or SportTV will cease their existing coverage. Reports suggest SportTV may continue to broadcast over 200 games per season.
