NBA explores 2028 launch for NBA Europe amid Euroleague talks

The NBA is exploring the launch of 'NBA Europe,' a project that could potentially begin in 2028 if negotiations with the Euroleague fail to reach a timely agreement. The timeline for the expansion may be delayed to ensure a stable integration into the existing European basketball ecosystem, which involves complex issues such as club participation, broadcasting rights, revenue distribution, and scheduling.

Despite the 13 clubs that own the Euroleague recently rejecting the NBA's initial offer, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver expressed optimism regarding a resolution. Silver stated that while the project could proceed without the Euroleague, he believes an agreement will be reached. Negotiations remain ongoing as both parties attempt to balance the NBA's expansion goals with the established identity and structures of current European competitions.
