NCCN advances global cancer treatment guidelines and prevention strategies
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) is advancing global efforts to standardize cancer treatment and expand access to prevention and screening.
In collaboration with the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology (PSMO), the Society of Gynecological Oncologists of the Philippines (SGOP), and the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS), the NCCN is developing International Adaptations of its Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Philippines. These tailored guidelines will cover several disease types, including breast, colon, lung, prostate, and rectal cancers, as well as B-cell lymphomas and hepatocellular carcinoma.
Additionally, the NCCN hosted a summit in Washington, D.C., focused on improving cancer prevention and screening through policy solutions and innovation. The event addressed barriers to equitable access and highlighted the potential of new screening technologies to reduce cancer mortality. Experts from the National Cancer Institute and the CDC participated in discussions regarding the importance of addressing fragmented delivery processes to prevent deepening health disparities.
