NCCN global cancer guideline and prevention initiatives

Overview

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) has been working to expand global access to cancer prevention and standardized treatment guidelines.

At the World Cancer Congress in Hong Kong, the NCCN advocated for National Cancer Control Plans to incorporate guidelines tailored to specific regions. CEO Crystal S. Denlinger highlighted the need to engage international decision-makers to improve global outcomes.

Following these efforts, the NCCN began developing International Adaptations of its Clinical Practice Guidelines specifically for the Philippines, in collaboration with several local and international oncological societies. These guidelines aim to cover various diseases, including breast, colon, lung, and prostate cancers. Additionally, the organization hosted a summit in Washington, D.C., to address barriers to equitable access and the role of new screening technologies in reducing mortality.
