NCDMB seeks to boost indigenous participation in Nigeria's energy sector

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) is advocating for increased access to assets, financing, and technology to boost the competitiveness of indigenous oil and gas companies. Representing the Board at the 2026 Energy Conference of the Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria, Dr. Obinna Ezeobi emphasized that empowering local players is central to the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act.

The NCDMB aims to raise local content participation to 70 percent by 2027 through its 10-Year Strategic Roadmap. Key interventions include the Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCI Fund), which has provided over US$400 million to more than 130 indigenous companies via the Bank of Industry and NEXIM Bank. Additionally, the Board highlighted Project 100, an initiative focused on supporting high-potential indigenous firms through capacity development and market access.
