ND party official Konstantinos Kyránakis says no MPs face illegal enrichment charges

Konstantinos Kyránakis, secretary of the Political Committee of Greece's New Democracy (ND) party, told the television channel OPEN that none of the party’s parliamentarians are accused of illegal enrichment. He referred to investigations involving 13 ND MPs, of which nine cases have been filed and four members—Maximos Senetaki, Katerina Papakosta, Kostas Skrekas and Christos Boukros—have faced formal charges.

Kyránakis emphasized that the alleged loss under investigation totals about €7,200 and that the matters concern minor misconduct, leaving the judiciary to decide. He argued that the accusations have unfairly portrayed the MPs and their families as criminals for approximately 122 days. Quoting his remarks, he said, "We are not accused of having enriched illegally, not even by a euro." He also called on the opposition to apologise for targeting the nine named MPs and highlighted that a PASOK MP appears in the case files without comparable legal action, urging equal treatment.

The statements address ongoing public debate over alleged wrongdoing by ND legislators and seek to restore the party’s reputation amid the legal inquiries.
