NDS completes Hybica Bridge repairs and announces D3 motorway closure
The National Highway Company (NDS) is progressing with bridge and road repairs across Slovakia's highway network. On the D1 motorway in the Liptov region, the complex repair of the Hybica Bridge is now complete. The 561-meter bridge has received a new roadway, drainage, and bridge seals, with traffic gradually returning to standard operations.
On the D3 motorway in the Kysuce region, the final stage of repairs at the Čadečka Bridge is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 3. This phase will require a full closure of the D3 motorway between Svrčinovec and Skalité, including the Svrčinovec and Poľana tunnels, for approximately one week.
Workers will complete the replacement of bridge bearings and perform large-scale repairs on a three-kilometer section of the roadway leading to the Polish border. During the closure, traffic heading from Čadca toward Poland will be diverted via route I/11 through Svrčinovec and Zátky. Traffic heading in the opposite direction will be diverted via route I/12, with weight restrictions for vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes.
