Ndèye Leïla Sow detained in Senegal following legal complaint

Ndèye Leïla Sow, president of the Union for Progress and Renewal of Senegal, has been placed in police custody at the Special Cybersecurity Division (DSC) following an investigation. The detention follows an audition regarding comments made during a broadcast on the YouTube channel Public SN.

The legal action was initiated by the collective And Samm Jikko Yi. According to the complaint, Sow is accused of spreading false news, defamation, public insults against a group of people, and making statements contrary to public morals. The dispute specifically involves remarks directed at members of the collective, including imams, which the group claims attacked their honor and reputation.
