Neemuch Police seize opium worth 51 lakh rupees and arrest Rajasthan suspect
Police in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, have arrested a man from Rajasthan following the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal opium. During an operation targeting drug trafficking, authorities intercepted a suspect, identified as Sumer Ram from Jodhpur, while he was waiting for a bus.
Officers recovered 10.15 kilograms of opium concealed in four bags within a cloth bag. The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth approximately 51 lakh rupees. The suspect has been charged under the NDPS Act, and investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the drugs and the extent of the smuggling network.
In a related development under the ‘Operation Nasha Mukt Nagaur’ campaign, police also intercepted a shipment of 2.4 kilograms of opium valued at roughly 12 lakh rupees. This investigation led authorities to Neemuch, where a supplier was arrested to help dismantle the supply chain between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
