NEET UG 2026 Round 1 seat allotment released by MCC

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the Round 1 seat allotment results for NEET UG 2026, covering the 15% All India Quota, AIIMS, JIPMER, and various central and deemed universities. Candidates must complete the admission process by August 31, 2026. This year's process introduces a ‘freeze and float’ system and increased use of online document verification.

State-level counselling processes are being impacted by the MCC schedule. In Karnataka, the KEA has delayed the KCET Round 2 seat allotment for engineering, pharmacy, and medical courses until the MCC finalizes its Round 1 process. Similarly, the BFUHS Punjab NEET UG Round 1 allotment has been delayed due to the extended choice-filling window and the MCC release schedule.

In Odisha, the OJEE Committee has released the provisional Round 1 seat allotment for MBBS and BDS admissions. Candidates can raise queries regarding provisional allotments on August 25, with final allotment letters expected on August 26.

Regarding security deposits, Round 1 offers a ‘free exit’ where students can withdraw without losing their deposit. However, in Round 2, students who are allotted a seat but fail to join will face forfeiture of their security deposit.
