Negeri Sembilan election: PN criticised for delayed chief appointment

Bersatu Supreme Council member R Sri Sanjeevan warned that Perikatan Nasional (PN) has failed to appoint a state chairman for Negeri Sembilan ahead of the election scheduled for 1 August. He described the delay as a “grave lapse in leadership”, noting that the state assembly was dissolved on 5 June and that the lack of a clear chief could cause “doubts, divisions and a trust deficit” for the coalition.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Action Party (DAP) announced it will retain more than half of its incumbent representatives and field several new candidates to defend the 11 seats it holds in the state assembly. Party secretary‑general Loke Siew Fook said the candidate list will be released shortly to give candidates time to prepare for the campaign.
