Dissatisfaction with the federal government's handling of the Hindu temple controversy and limited matriculation places for Indian students could pull traditional Pakatan Harapan support toward Barisan Negara and its Perikatan Nasional partner, turning the community into a king‑maker in a closely fought contest.

To facilitate voter movement, the national rail operator KTM announced additional ETS services between July 31 and August 2. Extra trains include an ETS Platinum Basic service from JB Sentral to Seremban and an ETS Express service from KL Sentral to JB Sentral, with multiple morning and evening departures aimed at reducing traffic congestion and helping voters reach polling stations.
