Negeri Sembilan State Election Tight Race Between BN‑PN and PH

Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) have taken a slight lead over Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the lead‑up to the Negeri Sembilan state election, according to political analysts. Professor Datuk Dr Awang Azman Awang Pawi of Universiti Malaya said the BN‑PN cooperation has helped consolidate Malay‑vote support in rural and semi‑urban seats, though the margin remains narrow and the outcome will hinge on vote transfers on polling day. Key battleground constituencies include Linggi, Pertang, Rantau, Nilai and several mixed seats.

Experts note that PN is shaping the campaign narrative, while BN appears to be playing catch‑up, defining the partnership's limits and preserving its own identity. Observers from Universiti Sains Malaysia, International Islamic University Malaysia and other think‑tanks describe the alliance as lopsided, with PN taking a more proactive role. Both coalitions have released separate manifestos, and the election, scheduled for next week, remains too close to call.
