Neil Peart documentary premieres at Toronto International Film Festival

The official documentary ‘No One’s Disciple’, directed by Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen, has premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film serves as a tribute to Neil Peart, the legendary drummer and lyricist for the rock band Rush, who passed away after a career spanning over forty years.

Through interviews and testimonies from friends and fellow musicians, including Stewart Copeland and Danny Carey, the documentary explores Peart’s life from his beginnings in Hamilton, Ontario, to his status as a global rock icon. The film focuses on his technical mastery of polyrhythms and his philosophical approach to music.

Rush bandmates Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson appear in the film, sharing personal memories. In one poignant scene, they toast to Peart’s memory with Macallan whisky, his preferred drink, symbolizing his enduring presence in their lives and music.
