Neil Peart Rush No One’s Disciple documentary Toronto International Film Festival

The trailer for ‘Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple’, a new documentary honoring the late Rush drummer, has been released. Produced by the CBC and directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, the film is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 16.

The documentary explores Peart’s musical legacy and personal life, including archival footage and interviews with bandmates Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. It also features contributions from prominent drummers Stewart Copeland, Chad Smith, Danny Carey, and Gavin Harrison, who join the band members in rehearsal studio sessions.

Following Peart’s death in 2020, Lee and Lifeson initially stated they would not perform as Rush again. However, with the blessing of Peart’s family, the band has reunited for the ‘Fifty Something’ world tour, featuring drummer Anika Nilles.
