Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts release new version of 1960s song

Neil Young and his band, The Chrome Hearts, have released a new version of the song ‘Casting Me Away From You’. The track, which Young believes was originally written in 1964 or 1965, is part of the upcoming album ‘Second Song;’ scheduled for release next month.

This new rendition, recorded at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La studio in Malibu, features a lonesome, countrified sound. It differs from a previous version recorded with Comrie Smith that appeared on the 2009 ‘Neil Young Archives Vol. I’ box set.

A video accompanying the track utilizes archival footage filmed by David Meyers at Young’s Broken Arrow Ranch during the early 1970s. The new version is currently available exclusively on the Neil Young Archives website.
