Nenad Alajbegović arrested in Novi Sad with loaded pistol and armor

Police from the Criminal Police Department (OKP) in Novi Sad carried out a coordinated raid and detained 45‑year‑old Nenad Alajbegović, a former leader of the "Zabranjeni" supporter group, who was hiding under a false identity. During the operation he was found wearing a ballistic vest, carrying a CZ 7.65 mm pistol with a round lodged in the barrel, 17 matching cartridges, a 7.62 mm bullet, a digital scale with traces of white powder resembling amphetamine, and a forged driver’s licence.

Alajbegović has a long criminal record for weapons, drugs and violent offences, and multiple arrest warrants have been issued across Serbia. The case was taken over by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, with charges filed for illegal production, possession and trafficking of weapons and explosives, as well as document forgery. He was placed under police custody for up to 48 hours pending further interrogation.
