Granada hosts inaugural Neorama festival for emerging musical talent

The Neorama festival is debuting in Granada from September 3 to 5, serving as a platform for emerging musical talent across Spain. Organized by the Confederation of Youth Musical Societies of Spain (JME) to mark its 75th anniversary, the festival aims to bridge the gap between musical training and professional careers.

The event features 40 concerts and involves approximately 500 participants, including 325 musicians and artists. Performances will take place in several of Granada's historic venues, such as the Generalife Theatre, the Manuel de Falla Auditorium, and the Plaza de los Aljibes.

The musical program spans a wide variety of genres, including flamenco, rock, jazz, classical, electronic, indie, punk, pop, and folk. Andalusian Culture Minister Patricia del Pozo described the festival as a “springboard towards their professionalization,” highlighting the opportunity for young artists to perform in sites of significant historical and artistic value.
