Nepal boxing team trains in Guwahati for Asian Games
The Nepal boxing team is conducting an intensive high-performance training camp at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) in Guwahati. The camp, which began on August 10, is designed to prepare athletes for the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, scheduled to start on September 19.
The training initiative is a no-cost arrangement for the SAI, with the Nepal Boxing Federation covering all expenses related to travel, visas, medical insurance, and incidental costs. The delegation includes several athletes such as Ramisha Shrestha, Asmita Duwal, Kusum Tamang, Chandra Bahadur Thapa, Khagendra Roka Magar, Dan Bahadur Darlami, and Rabin Nepal.
SAI coaches Narendra Rana, Trideep Borah, and Pranamika Borah are assisting the Nepalese boxers. Athletes have noted that the facilities and quality of sparring have improved their technical and physical skills. DK Mittal, Executive Director of the SAI Regional Centre Guwahati, stated that such sporting exchanges serve as a bridge to strengthen bonds and promote cooperation between India and Nepal.
