Nepal flood relief: India and Dubai dispatch emergency aid

International relief efforts are intensifying in Nepal following devastating flash floods. India has dispatched 95 tonnes of emergency relief materials via seven aircraft to support rescue and reconstruction efforts. Specialized Indian teams, including a tunnel rescue unit and a forensic team, are currently operating on the ground in Kathmandu to assist with search operations and the processing of 1,200 DNA samples to identify victims.

Additionally, Dubai Humanitarian has coordinated an airlift of approximately 74 metric tonnes of critical supplies to Kathmandu. Delivered via Emirates SkyCargo, the shipment includes tents, shelter materials, medicines, hygiene kits, and winter kits. This aid was dispatched on behalf of UNICEF, the World Food Programme’s United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
