Nepal flood survivors organize relief and mental health support

Following a devastating flash flood along the Bhote Koshi River on August 26, 2026, survivors in Nepal are struggling with significant loss and the process of rebuilding. In the Rasuwa district, victims have formed the ‘Himali Tsunami and Flood Victims Management Committee’ to organize and draw international attention to the catastrophe.

Relief efforts include ground-level voluntary work and the distribution of food and sanitation items. To address the psychological impact of the disaster, initiatives have been launched to provide free mental health counseling and wellness coaching to affected families. Many survivors continue to mourn missing relatives and await DNA confirmation to identify the deceased.
