Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal stated that while Nepal’s rescue teams are performing well in general search and rescue efforts, the country requires specialized technical services to handle specific challenges. According to the National Disaster Management Center, these experts will focus on tasks such as searching for individuals trapped in tunnels, restoring transportation and communications, and conducting forensic investigations, including DNA testing for victim identification.

India has offered extensive support, including the deployment of medical teams, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and expert teams for tunnel searches. India also plans to provide Bailey bridges to restore connectivity; relief aircraft have already arrived. Financial responses continue to expand, with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approving a $5 million emergency grant for food, water, medicine, and shelter, alongside funding for post-disaster assessments. The Nepal government maintains the status of impacted areas as disaster crisis-affected zones as operations proceed.
