Rescue operations continue despite difficult terrain, mudslides, and unpredictable weather. The Nepalese government has requested international assistance for forensic expertise and technical support to search for workers potentially trapped in flooded hydroelectric plant tunnels. The United Nations estimates that tens of thousands of households in the affected regions require urgent food, water, and sanitation support.
