Nepal floods cause widespread destruction as Prayagraj temple collapses

Severe flooding in Nepal has caused widespread destruction, with reports of houses and shops being swept away by uncontrolled waters and debris. The disaster has impacted numerous villages and destroyed dozens of bridges. Rescue operations are ongoing as people remain trapped under debris, and more than 300 Indian nationals are reported missing. India has dispatched a second shipment of relief materials to assist with the crisis.

In Prayagraj, India, a portion of the three-story Swaminarayan Temple collapsed during heavy rainfall. The collapse occurred near a large pit that had been excavated for an adjacent building construction. Accumulated rainwater caused the soil to subside, leading to the structural failure. No casualties were reported as the affected section, primarily used for guest accommodation, was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
