Nepal Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal to Visit China in Mid‑June
Nepal’s foreign minister, Shisir Khanal, is scheduled to travel to Beijing from 14 to 17 June 2026 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The visit will include bilateral talks aimed at deepening Nepal‑China relations and expanding cooperation across trade, investment, technology, energy and cultural ties. Preparations are underway in Kathmandu, and officials said the agenda will be announced soon.
Khanal’s China trip follows a recent three‑day official visit to India, where he met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and discussed a range of issues, including the mutual legal assistance agreement, health facility handovers, and the launch of a cross‑border payments linkage between India’s UPI and Nepal’s NPI.
