Nepal highways blocked by landslides and flooding

Incessant rainfall and landslides have caused widespread disruption to road networks and vehicular movement across multiple districts in Nepal. According to updates from the Nepal Police Headquarters, several major highways have been blocked or face significant restrictions.

On the BP Highway connecting Kavrepalanchok and Sindhuli, vehicular movement is banned daily from 6 pm to 4 am due to flooding risks. Similarly, traffic on the Kanti Highway in Makwanpur is prohibited between 5 pm and 5 am.

Multiple highways have been completely obstructed by landslides and road erosion, including: - The Mechi Highway in Ilam Municipality. - The Araniko Highway in Sindhupalchok. - The Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi road in Rasuwa. - The Bheri Corridor in Rukum West. - The Koshi Highway in Sankhuwasabha. - The Besisahar Manang road in Lamjung. - The Beni Jomsom road in Mustang.

Authorities are currently coordinating with local governments and relevant agencies to clear the blocked sections and have urged travelers to exercise caution.
