The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) is implementing emergency distribution measures to address a cooking gas supply crunch in the Kathmandu Valley. To ease shortages, the NOC has expanded its direct sales program, designating seven locations for LPG cylinder sales on Sunday, including sites in Teku, Chapali, Kirtipur, Tarakeshwar, Chandragiri, and Thimi.

Prior to the Sunday expansion, five locations in Kathmandu were utilized for sales on Saturday in coordination with the District Administration Office. These locations included Teku, Chabahil, Kirtipur, Basundhara, and Babarmahal.

To ensure the supply reaches those in immediate need, the NOC requires buyers to present either a citizenship certificate or a National Identity Card. The Sunday distribution is scheduled to run from 11 am to 5 pm. While the NOC noted that LPG imports are continuing regularly and industries are supplying dealers, the direct sales are intended specifically for consumers facing urgent shortages.
