Nepal PM Balendra Shah vows diplomatic solution to India border dispute

Prime Minister Balendra Shah addressed Nepal's House of Representatives, stating that the long‑standing border dispute with India will be settled through talks and diplomatic efforts. He told parliament, “the border issue with India will be resolved through table talks and diplomatic efforts,” and emphasized the need for both sides to sit together to discuss the matter.

Shah noted that historic borders drawn during the British era remain a source of contention and said that experts from both countries, along with British historical documents, could help find a resolution. India has reiterated its readiness for constructive dialogue, while the dispute also touches on areas that border China, prompting all three nations to seek a peaceful settlement.
