Nepal flash floods kill over 900 following glacial collapse

Amid the destruction, a turquoise-colored house in Dhunge Bazaar has gained international attention for its survival. While neighboring structures were leveled, the home remained intact. Experts attribute this to its reinforced concrete frame and a foundation built on high-density bedrock. A family of six was trapped on an upper-floor balcony for two hours before being rescued by helicopter.
Rescue efforts continue in the difficult Himalayan terrain, with pilots like Captain Priya Adhikari conducting high-altitude missions to reach stranded communities.
