Nepal Telecom launches postal SIM delivery and 4G expansion project

Nepal Telecom (NTC) has launched a new Postal SIM Service in partnership with the Department of Postal Services. This digital initiative allows subscribers to order prepaid physical SIM cards online for doorstep delivery via Nepal Post, aiming to improve accessibility for both urban and remote residents.

In a separate infrastructure move, Nepal Telecom has issued a tender for a 1600-site 2G and 4G swap and expansion project. The project involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of equipment to improve network coverage, capacity, and quality across the country. This initiative follows the company's decision to shut down its 3G network, focusing instead on enhancing 4G high-speed data and 2G services for feature phones.
