Nepali Congress advances preparations for 15th General Convention

The Nepali Congress is advancing preparations for its 15th General Convention. In Kailali, the faction led by Sher Bahadur Deuba has begun organizing conventions at various levels, starting with ward-level meetings scheduled for October 1. Party leaders emphasized that the current working committee holds the authority to conduct the upcoming convention.

In Makwanpur, regional elections held under the framework of the 15th General Convention have resulted in new leadership across four provincial assembly constituencies. The elections saw competition between different internal groups, including the Mahalakshmi Upadhyay Dina-Indra Bahadur Baniya group and the Anandaram Parajuli-Ishwor Pathak group. Results included several contested seats and some unopposed selections for chairpersons and committee members.
