Nepali Congress considers postponing ward-level conventions

The Nepali Congress is preparing to postpone its ward-level conventions for the upcoming 15th General Convention by one week. The decision to revise the schedule is being discussed by the party’s Working Committee, citing several factors including recent flooding in Rasuwa, road disruptions, internal consultations, and the Haritalika Teej festival.

Simultaneously, party President Gagan Thapa is engaged in meetings to resolve internal disputes ahead of the General Convention, which remains scheduled for October 2–4. Thapa has held discussions with former Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka to address concerns regarding membership updates and participation rights. Additionally, Thapa is scheduled to meet with leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala to discuss proposals aimed at maintaining party unity, including the composition of various party committees and the integration of central working committees.
