NEPL and Seplat Energy launch education initiatives in Nigeria
The NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) and Seplat Energy Joint Venture has launched several educational initiatives in Nigeria aimed at improving science and teaching standards.
In Delta State, the joint venture established two Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) laboratories at Zappa Basic Secondary School and Asagba Mixed Secondary School in the Oshimili South Local Government Area. These facilities are intended to provide students with practical, hands-on learning experiences to supplement theoretical instruction.
Additionally, the joint venture has commenced the 2026 Seplat Teachers Empowerment Programme (STEP) in Edo State. This phase of the initiative aims to train 500 teachers to help them adapt to evolving curricula and modern teaching methods. Over the last six years, the program has trained more than 2,000 educators across Edo, Delta, and Imo states.
