Nequi announces service suspensions and new Redeban credit partnership
Nequi is undergoing a technological update to strengthen its operations as it transitions into an independent financial entity from Bancolombia. As part of this process, the digital wallet will temporarily suspend seven specific services between the afternoon of August 31 and the early morning of September 1, 2026.
Scheduled interruptions include ACH transfers to other banks, Bre-B operations, PSE payments and recharges, transfers to Bancolombia, Plata al Toque, international remittances, and PayPal-related transactions. Nequi clarified that the application will not be fully suspended; users can still perform transfers between Nequi accounts and use physical or digital Nequi Visa cards.
Simultaneously, Nequi has announced a partnership with Redeban to allow users with pre-approved credit to make payments via dataphones across Colombia. While credit-based payments are already available for online shopping, this alliance expands the functionality to physical retail locations equipped with Redeban terminals. This feature will be implemented gradually.
