Nequi announces service suspensions and tax guidance

Nequi, a major Colombian digital wallet, has announced a partial suspension of several services scheduled between Monday, August 31, and Tuesday, September 1, 2026. This interruption is part of a system update required as the platform prepares to operate independently from Bancolombia.

Specific service disruptions include ACH transfers to other banks on August 31, PSE payments and recharges starting late Monday night, and Bre-B transactions along with Nequi-to-Bancolombia transfers during the early hours of September 1. Remittance services will also face a temporary suspension.

Additionally, users are reminded of tax implications regarding the 4x1000 financial movement tax. To remain exempt from this tax on Nequi, monthly movements must stay below certain thresholds, or users can convert their account into a savings account to increase the exemption limit to 18,330,900 pesos per month.
