Nequi to Operate Independently from Bancolombia Starting September 2026

Nequi announced that, effective 1 September 2026, it will become an independent financing company – Nequi Compañía de Financiamiento – separating its legal structure from Bancolombia. The new entity will remain part of Grupo Cibest, the holding that also includes Bancolombia.

The change will not affect the millions of Colombian users of the digital wallet. The app, phone‑number login, account numbers, payroll receipt, transfers, withdrawals, and fee schedule will continue unchanged. Existing Nequi loans will keep the same interest rates, terms, and repayment schedules, and new loan applications will follow the same process. Services such as free real‑time transfers, cash withdrawals through Bancolombia channels, and other core features will remain as before.
