Nerviano political groups contest solar plant project

Political groups Lega, Gin, and Con Nerviano have filed a formal document contesting the authorization of the ‘Nerviano Stefi’ ground-mounted photovoltaic plant in the Bergamina region.

The opposition argues that the project, which involves approximately 3,900 solar modules, violates existing urban planning and environmental protections. Specifically, they claim the installation would disrupt the biological continuity of the ‘Cordone Verde’ ecological corridor and threaten the hydraulic regime of the Villoresi Canal and the Olona River.

The groups maintain that renewable energy projects should prioritize already artificialized or compromised surfaces, such as industrial rooftops and parking lots, rather than sacrificing agricultural land and protected natural areas.
