Nerviano photovoltaic plant opposition

The municipal administration of Nerviano initially expressed concerns regarding a proposed 2.58 MWp photovoltaic plant in the via Marzorati green area. Officials noted the project, submitted via the Lombardy Region portal, was initiated by a private entity without prior consultation with the local government. The administration stated it was seeking alternatives to the proposal to address public concerns.

Following this, political groups including Lega, Gin, and Con Nerviano filed formal documents contesting the authorization of the ‘Nerviano Stefi’ plant. The opposition argues the installation of approximately 3,900 solar modules violates urban planning and environmental protections. Specifically, they claim the project would disrupt the ‘Cordone Verde’ ecological corridor and threaten the hydraulic regimes of the Villoresi Canal and the Olona River. These groups advocate for prioritizing renewable energy projects on industrial rooftops and parking lots rather than agricultural and protected lands.
