Netanyahu expands Israeli military operations in Lebanon and Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a widening of military actions in both Gaza and Lebanon. He said Israeli forces have crossed the Litani River in southern Lebanon and are operating in Beirut and the Bekaa Valley, targeting Hezbollah positions. Netanyahu also declared that Israel aims to control up to 70 % of Gaza’s territory, up from the previously stated 60 %. The offensive includes intensified strikes on Lebanese cities such as Nabatieh and Sour, and has forced tens of thousands of residents in southern Lebanon to flee their homes. Netanyahu vowed to “crush Hezbollah” and accelerate attacks, while warning of further strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut. The statements come amid heightened tensions and U.S.‑mediated talks between Israel and Lebanon.
