Netanyahu warns of Iran-Russia ties and election provocations
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed concern regarding the deepening strategic relationship between Iran and Russia. During a presentation on Israel's internal security doctrine, Netanyahu claimed that the cooperation between Moscow and Tehran is contrary to Russia's own interests. He noted that Israeli and Russian interests have conflicted several times in recent months, with Moscow taking actions against Israel.
Netanyahu stated that while he seeks to pursue common interests where possible, he is prepared to defend Israel's interests when they diverge. This comes amid reports of expanding military and strategic cooperation between Russia and Iran, driven by geopolitical shifts and increased tensions involving the United States and Israel.
Additionally, Netanyahu warned that the Islamic Republic and its proxy forces are seeking to carry out provocative actions to influence the atmosphere ahead of Israel's upcoming parliamentary elections. In separate remarks, the Prime Minister addressed domestic political competition and pledged to combat economic monopolies to reduce the cost of living for Israeli citizens.
