Netflix Ads expands interactive ad format to Brazil and Mexico
Netflix announced that its Netflix Ads interactive advertising platform will be launched in Latin America, starting with Brazil and Mexico. After the service debuted in the United States and Canada on July 1, the company selected the two markets because they have the highest streaming engagement in the region, with 35 million active users in Brazil and over 28 million in Mexico.
The format allows viewers to press a button on their TV screen during a commercial, sending a direct link to the advertiser’s website to the viewer’s linked mobile device or displaying a QR code if no device is attached. Netflix says the technology turns ads into immediate sales opportunities and provides brands with real‑time intent data. Leo Khede, senior director of advertising for Netflix Latin America, said each interaction is a “real signal of intent” that helps brands optimise campaigns. The rollout is planned for mid‑July, with further expansion to other Latin American countries expected in the coming months.
