Netflix announces content changes including animation slate and title removals

Netflix is undergoing a content shake-up involving both the removal of existing titles and the announcement of new animated programming.

The wrestling series ‘Heels’, starring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig, is scheduled to leave the platform on September 15, 2026. Created by Michael Waldron, the series follows two brothers acting as wrestling rivals. Despite a 94% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the show was canceled in 2023 after two seasons.

To bolster its animation library, Netflix has announced a new slate of anime and adult animated series for 2026-2027. Upcoming titles include the second seasons of ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ and ‘Blue Eye Samurai’, as well as ‘Sakamoto Days’. Other scheduled releases include ‘Bass x Machina’, ‘Fool Night’, ‘The One Piece’, and ‘Lego One Piece’.
