Globo and Netflix sign major content licensing agreement

Globo and Netflix have announced their largest content licensing agreement to date, which will bring 18 original Globo productions to the Netflix streaming platform. The deal, set to begin in December 2026, includes 14 films, three telenovelas, and one comedy series, with releases scheduled through mid-2027.

Key titles in the agreement include the Oscar-winning film ‘Ainda Estou Aqui’, which will be available exclusively in Brazil, and ‘Vitória’, starring Fernanda Montenegro, which will see global distribution. The telenovela ‘Caminho das Índias’ will be available in the United States and Latin America, excluding Brazil. Additionally, seven seasons of the comedy series ‘Vai Que Cola’ will be added to the Netflix catalog for the Brazilian market.

Both companies stated that the partnership aims to leverage the global scale of Netflix to expand the reach of Brazilian culture and creativity to international audiences.
